What is a Bikini wax?
A basic bikini wax only removes the hair that is visible outside of your normal underwear.
What is a Brazilian Wax?
Everything off – front back and everything in between.
Does waxing hurt?
Any hair removal from the roots will be uncomfortable but this is the most effective and affordable method.
The pain should be minimal.  We are trained in various techniques to ensure the treatment is as pain-free as possible, this includes methods such as making sure the skin is well prepared and fully supported before the strip is removed.
*Please note that waxing during the menstrual cycle can often be more painful which is often over looked.
How long should the hair be for a treatment?
The hair should be around 0,5 to 1,5 cm long. If it is shorter, the wax will not attach to the hair properly and will not be removed from the root. If you are used to shaving, you should stop shaving around 2 weeks prior to the treatment. If you have never shaved and your hair is much longer, than you can either trim it yourself, or otherwise it will be done prior to waxing.
How long does waxing last?
It varies for different people depending on their natural hair growth. After the first wax treatment most people will have re-growth after 3 weeks. This period will extend up to 8 week with consecutive treatments. Some people will find they can go for more than 2 months in between treatments.
Should I shave in between wax treatments?
No, it is better not to for several reasons. Number one is that the more you shave hair, the thicker and tougher they become. If you have any hairs coming up more so than others in between 2 treatments, you are better off using a tweezer.
Is it better to wax or shave?
Shaving may seem like a ‘quick-fix' option but eventually unsightly stubble will develop and reappear after each shave very quickly, usually the next day.
Shaving cuts the hair at the base, when the hair grows the base effectively becomes the new tip and the root becomes even thicker to support the now wider hair.
With continuous shaving the hair become so thick that they take longer to shed and often two hairs will grow from the same follicle making the area twice as hairy as before.
Shaving also makes ‘micro-cuts' on the surface of your skin, hence the burning sensation when products are applied.  Many men and women react to this in what is known as a ‘shaving rash'.
Shaving causes extreme dryness as a combination of shaving rash and the scraping of essential oils from the epidermis.  Yet moisturizing immediately after shaving will burn and likely cause a reaction.
In contrast, waxing removes the hair from the follicle completely so there is an increased time lapse while a new root develops and begins to grow to the surface of the skin.  The new hair will be tapered as it has not been cut and therefore is less visible.
With repeated waxing the hair follicles will run out of hair cells and cease to function so women who keep up with regular waxing sessions find large areas never re-grow again.
With each wax the follicle is slightly loosened and although they appear the same they release the hairs a lot easier making each session less painful than the last.
Is waxing good for my skin?
Waxing is also a great method for exfoliating.  There is often a noticeable difference in the brightness and tone of skin which can be clearly seen during the process.
Waxing also increases blood circulation to the epidermis, this is often seen as redness half an hour after waxing and subsides within a few hours.  This is the process of blood bringing oxygen to your skin and carrying away toxins.
How do I reduce ingrown hair? How do I reduce spots after waxing?
This is one of the most common side effects of waxing. Ingrown hairs are hair strands which haven't quiet broken through the skin surface but instead fold over on themselves and create unsightly spots on the skin.
Most of the time those hair strands find their own way to the surface but in some cases the ingrown hairs become slightly uncomfortable and a bit painful to the touch.
The best and most effective method for reducing ingrown hairs is to exfoliate daily for at least two weeks after your waxing session. Using a good quality loafer or hand exfoliating gloves does the trick. Make sure that the whole waxed area is exfoliated gently. You don't have to be too harsh with the scrubbing, but it is important to exfoliate daily.
That's the key in keeping the skin spot free and eliminates any occurrence of ingrown hairs. If you have already broken out in spots and ingrown hairs, it is advised that you exfoliate as soon as possible and carry on doing so till the spots gradually disappear
Our choice of wax is one of the most expensive in the industry and lives up to its reputation and many customers have commented on its comfort and return knowing that they will be treated with only the best quality products.
How long does a treatment take?
This depends on what is being waxed. Some examples:
Bikini line or back is generally around 20 minutes to 30 minutes. Legs, around 45 minutes. Brazilian wax, 20 to 35 minutes.. These are some general guidelines.
What parts of the body do you treat?
Basically everywhere but on the top of your head.
Will you be embarrassed?
Stripping down to nothing in front of a stranger will feel a bit awkward for many first time waxers - but do keep in mind:
You are with a professional.
The whole experience is rather clinical.
A trained, fully qualified therapist will remove any unwanted hair as quickly and painlessly as possible, usually in about 10-45 minutes
When it comes to the eternal question of pain, everyone has a different thresholds so there's no right answer here but pain killers taken around one hour before any waxing treatment can help reduce any pain you may experience.
You should expect to experience some discomfort during waxing but in our opinion, that momentary discomfort is worth it.

Can anyone get waxed?
Men and woman with healthy skin can be waxed. I do not recommend waxing for persons suffering from diabetes or who have varicose veins or poor circulation as they are more susceptible to infection. Users of Retin-A, Renova, Differin or Isotretinoin are advised not to have waxing performed; these medications tend to weaken the skin and tearing of the skin may occur when the wax is removed.

Waxing should not be done on areas of skin affected by warts, pimples, moles or rashes or on skin that is irritated, chapped or suffering from sunburn.
